Our Story
It all begins with people.
APC started its activity in 2007. We have developed a series of inter- and cross-disciplinary projects aimed at creating interaction within our community and increasing visibility for artists, athletes, and innovators. For us, involvement means building connections, encouraging openness to learning, questioning and embracing new perspectives.
Among our initial projects were “Clujul are Farmec” and “Parcul cu Mere”, which were dedicated to the local community. At the same time, we developed national projects - “Pot Ajuta”, a program for nurturing young talents, and “PurModelează”, a national project promoting student inventions from technical universities.
Since 2012, we initiated and organized the annual national book design competition “Cele mai frumoase cărți” (CMFC). It was part of a wider initiative to promote books and reading, but also served as a platform for reflection and education for those involved in editorial work. The program included activities for visual artists interested in book design and the book as a medium.
CMFC has evolved into a multidisciplinary platform bringing together cultural facilitators, NGOs, publishing houses, art and design universities, and public institutions engaged in book promotion. It has fostered a community passionate about book design, bridging artistic creation with the needs of the creative industry in an interactive, collaborative way.
With the COVID-19 pandemic and social restrictions, the project paused its annual competition format. However, we were glad to see that our initiative inspired many cultural actions related to design, creativity, book objects, and the art of the book.
Alongside our large-scale projects, we are actively involved in artistic, educational, social, and environmental initiatives, working with children's centers, schools, faculties and other cultural organizations. We strive to give a voice to the vulnerable, nurture curiosity for learning, and open space for dialogue.
